At 8 A.M. on 13th December, 2016, with the elaborate preparations of the Primary School English Teaching& Research Office in Ying Jiang District, at Renmin Road Elementary School, the New-Curriculum First-Rate English Class Competition in Primary Schools of Ying Jiang District raised the curtain. Anqing Foreign Language School’s teacher Yang Ping on behalf of the Primary Section attended the contest which adopted the pattern of on-site teaching. Yang Ping’s teaching materials focused on Part A Let’s talk in Unit 4, Volume One in Grade 3 of the Primary School English with the PEP Edition.
By means of classroom game teaching and multimedia courseware, teacher Yang Ping helped students understand the contents of dialogues. Furthermore, she enabled students to consolidate their learning by guessing riddles and fulfilling well-designed classroom tasks. Therefore, Yang Ping’s English class explained the profound classroom teaching in simple terms, which turned out brief yet efficient.
What’s more, Yang Ping showcased her solid basic skills in English teaching as well as her splendid instructional designs, which left a deep impression on the attending judges and fellow teachers. More noticeably, Yang Ping had the honor to obtain the second prize in the Superior-Quality Primary School English Class Competition in Ying Jiang District.
Evidently, this marvelous demonstration lesson gave the credit to the jointed efforts of the English Teaching& Research Group in the Primary Division. Also, it attributed the success to the concern from school leaders who attached great importance to this event.
In conclusion, all teachers in the English Section gained a lot from the classroom observation and comment. Being one of the judges, teacher Zhang Cheng attended the contest from beginning to end. He expressed that the contest would be more and more fantastic every passing year. His deepest feeling was that no progress simply meant regression. Zhang Cheng firmly believed that in the near future the teaching capability in the English Department would strive for further improvement and present students with more brilliant classroom teaching!
